      Historical monument on the east side of Mt Olive Church Rd: "In memory of Samuel L. Lewis, Oct 17, 1813, Dec 9, 1879, who bequeathed this land to Mt. Olive Baptist Church.".
      From 1771 until 1897 this area of Alamance county was a part of Chatham county.
