An African-American cemetery, owned by St. Peter's Church, Apex, NC, and actively in use. There is ample space for more burials, a total of 2.73 acres.

From the beltline (Hwy. 440, US 1, and Hwy.64 W) head west to the Apex (Hwy. 55) exit on US 1, (Williams St. ). Turn left at the light, going towards Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina. Go about 2 « miles to a light and a left turn on to Holly Springs Rd. (SR 1152). About 1 « miles up the road turn right onto Sunset Lake Rd., (SR 1301) and go about « mile to a cemetery on the right side of the road just past the entrance to Sunset Ridge Subdivision, Kenmont Dr. From there a track leads to this cemetery which is well back from the road, behind the (Jones, Booker) cemetery which is up front.

Not too long ago this was a rural neighborhood with a few African American homeowners, all long time residents. The land was virtually untouched by change. Sunset Lake was the location of a hunting club, and it was an area of great natural beauty. Relentless growth in Wake Co. caught up with this overlooked part of the county a few years ago and the construction of a country club and other expensive neighborhoods has changed this place forever. Newly paved roads, sewer lines, schools and shopping centers have sprouted all around the 2 cemeteries that are located on this beautiful meadow. This small cemetery is in the rear of the property and is unrelated to the Jones, Booker, Adams, Stewart Cemetery which is up front near the paved road. Only a dirt track leads to this cemetery from Sunset Lake Rd.
