      Location - Hadley Township. 75 feet north of house. At end of 4,000-foot lane south of SR 1346, Gum Spring--Silk Hope Road, 2.15 miles west of NC 87. Address is 2165 Silk Hope Gum Spring Rd., Pittsboro, NC 27312.

      Cemetery layout.

      This Joseph John Alston was the son of William and Anne (Yeargan) Alston, and a nephew of Joseph John "Chatham Jack" Alston.

      Location of cemetery was reported in early 1990s by Dr. Billy Ivey, purchaser of abandoned house on the property. On 5 June 1995, Will M. Heiser recorded five legible grave markers and one grave marked with two field stones. On 11 March 2026, Tom Miller and Mike Ford recorded five legible grave markers and two potential graves marked with two field stones each.

      Not identified explanation: Overgrown with low brush and periwinkle.
      Enclosed: Yes.
      Enclosed explanation: Rock wall 25 feet by 30 feet.
      Enclosed conditions: Partially tumbled down.
      Markers: Yes.
      Markers with inscriptions: Yes.
      Number of readable markers: 5. Markers barely legible due to extended exposure.
      Last burial: 1858.
      First burial: 1816.
